All tours begin from our meeting point 1, in front of the entry port and are carried out every day on request and with flexible hours, according to the arrival and departure time of your ship.

PMO M03 for individuals or small groups PALERMO AND MONREALE (approx. 4 hours) - 2016 A private car or private minibus tour will take you past the key sights, although we will stop for a full visit of the Cathedral, built in an unusual marriage of Norman and Arab architectural styles and which houses the tombs of different Norman kings and Emperor Frederick II. Another religious site of note is the “Casa Professa”, one of the most important baroque churches in Palermo. Discover the area around Palermo on a private or minibus tour to Monreale, just 8 km away; enjoy a walking tour around the town and visit the Cathedral, home to an exquisite display of golden mosaics depicting scenes from the Old and New Testament. Free time to shop in Monreale before returning to the ship. Please note: you have to walk up some steps to visit the Cathedral in Monreale. The guide will give explanation only outside the sites. There may be restrictions on shooting videos inside the churches. Conservative attire is recommended for visiting sites of religious importance.

PMO M06 for individuals or small groups - PALERMO & THE PALATINE CHAPEL (approx. 4 hours) - 2016 Join us as tour through the streets and square of this bustling Sicilian town. Stop at one of Palermo’s key monuments: the Palatine Chapel. The Chapel was commissioned by Roger II of Sicily in 1132 and took eight years to complete. Upon entering the site one is struck by the elegance and the luminosity of the breathtaking mosaics which cover the ceiling and the dome. We will see more of Palermo’s architectural gems, including the Norman Palace (exterior only) and the Cathedral (exterior only). Do not miss the opportunity to look around the wonderful “Capo” Market, Palermo’s largest produce and fish market. We will end our tour via the “Teatro Massimo” (exterior only), Teatro Politeama and For Corners Square before returning to the port. Please note: this tour is not recommended for guests with walking difficulties. There may be restrictions on shooting videos inside the sites.

PMO M07 for individuals or small groups - SANTA ROSALIA'S GROTTA & MONDELLO (approx. 4 hours) - 2016 Leave the port for Monte Pellegrino where, set into a local cave, stands the shrine of Santa Rosalia, which was founded in 1625; in the nearby caves, the bones of the Saint were supposedly discovered and are now venerated as religious relics. We will then head to Mondello, a former fishing village and today a top tourist destination. Enjoy some free time strolling around this pleasant fishermen village. We will have time for a short sightseeing tour of Palermo before returning to the port passing through the historical area and seeing the ''Teatro Massimo'', ''Teatro Politeama'' and Cathedral (exteriors only). Please note: this tour includes some walking.

PMO M03 for individuals and small groups - PALERMO BEACH (full day, lunch included) - 2016 - Possibility of swimming and surfing. Panoramic private car tour or minibus tour. Light typical lunch or dinner included. Wheelchair guests must be accompanied by their own helper to get on/off the coach. Speaking English guide available. Recommended for families with children. Our excursion begins with a sightseeing tour of Palermo through its main streets and squares including Politeama Square and Massimo Theatre. We will pass through the “Cala”, the old port of the city, and the church of “Santa Maria alla Catena” , Piazza Marina with its beautiful ''Giardino Garibaldi'', and other landmarks such us the Foro italic and the old waterfront of Palermo. We will stop at the Mondello beach where you will have free time for swimming and relaxing on a fully-equipped nearby beach. Typical light lunch included. PMO C011 for individuals and small groups A TASTE OF PALERMO 2016: Excursion in Palermo Palermo, the city of strong contrasts, will be the destination of our excursion. After the visit in the beautiful St. Caterina church, the Martorana and the Casa Professa Church, will dip there in the daily life penetrating the alleys of the old city up to reach the heart of the wider and famous local market of Sicily afoot: the Ballarò. We will discover here the most animate and colored lapels of people rich in traditions and customs deeply rooted in the deepest soul. Among it howls, cackles and wisecracks in dialect, we will admire fruit juicy mass in show with art, we will sniff the strong tastes of the spices, we will taste a characteristic "panella" scrutinizing the fishes just fished in transparent waters. The same courage and the same strength we will discover in the wrinkles of the most elderly sellers, in the eyes of the boys that wander among the stands unloading to strength of brachia cassettes on cassettes. To the peak of the contrast, we will pass from the crowded and noisy roads to one among the more opulent, discreet and refined historical abodes of the ancient city where the descendents of the old nobility are still living today. The landlords will open their doors for you, and guide you through the lounges at the discovery of the treasures and works of art of the building. At the end of the visit, the landlords there will offer a base tasting of specialty from the kitchen palermitana.
Please note: this excursion is predominantly by foot; we therefore recommend you to wear comfortable walking shoes. The number of places at our disposition is limited: we recommend, therefore, to book in good time.

PMO C014 for individuals and small groups - HISTORICAL PALERMO AND MONREALE: Excursion in Palermo. The excursion will start with a panoramic tour of the historical centre of Palermo including a visit of the Cathedral. You will then continue to Monreale to visit the Duomo, a classic blend of Norman art, with Arabic, northern, classic and Byzantine elements, where you'll see its famous mosaics. There will also be some time to shop for souvenirs before returning to the ship. Please note: Appropriate clothing is required for entrance into holy places. To reach the Duomo of Monreale involves walking up a staircase.

PMO C016 for individuals and small groups - 'MYSTERIOUS PALERMO': Excursion in Palermo.The excursion will begin with a panoramic trip through the city to admire its most beautiful monuments: the Theatre Politeama, the Theatre Massimo, the Quatro Canti, the Royal Palace and the Pretoria Plaza. You will then visti the impressive Catacombs of Cappuccini, a true curiosity of the past where you will see more than 8.000 mummified bodies of monks, and noble citizens dating from the XVIII and XIX centuries. After this visit, you will head directly to the Castle of Zisa, a marvelous example of Arabic architecture, which was the residence of Norman kings. Your third and final stop will be the prestigious Cathedral of Palermo, marvel at its towers, mullions and arcades that race along the whole of the construction, introducing its four Norman towers and its beautiful dome, bell tower and clock. The Cathedral guards the imperial and royal graves of the Normans, around which rotates the romantic history Ruggero II, king from 1130, to his successor Federico II and to his father Enrico VI. Please note: The visit to the Catacombs of the Capuchin Friars is not recommended for children or for those of a nervous disposition.

PMO N21 for individuals and small group s- Palermo's Noble Past 2016 This tour introduces you to the highlights of the city and the splendor of an exclusive Palermo which seems to be disappearing. A drive around the city introduces you to its most important landmarks and some of its history. Visit the Cathedral and learn its long and complex past while you admire its magnificent interior. Walk to the exclusive and unique Palazzo Conte Federico, not far from the cathedral and within the ancient town center. Count Federico's family can be traced back to the Staufen Emperor Friedrich II. They have lived in this palace for centuries and today, they’ll welcome you and show you their home as they share some of its glorious history. The personal atmosphere remains and makes a visit to this historic building a unique experience. Dating back to the 12th century, the palace is built on Punic Roman city walls, and the Tower on the south side of the palace is one of its few remaining parts. Through the centuries Count Federico's palace has undergone several reconstructions. Because of this, you’ll see various architectural styles: high painted ceilings from the 14th century, various sculptures and Marabitti's lion fountain from the 17th century. In the numerous halls, valuable antiques and paintings can be admired. Of special notice is the weapon collection in the knights' hall. At the end of your visit you’ll be treated to some tasty traditional snacks accompanied by wine. Visiting the palace and meeting the owners is truly a unique experience. Note: As tour visits religious sites, please dress appropriately. No bare shoulders or shorts are allowed.
