About the instructor:

Lindsey (@lessonswithlinds) is a RYT-200 yoga instructor, experience curator, and community builder with nearly a decade of teaching and event-hosting experience across Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Miami. Her work blends restorative yoga, intentional movement, and breathwork with a deep understanding of energy, joy, and human connection. Over the years, Lindsey has hosted a wide range of thoughtfully designed yoga experiences—from women’s networking events and corporate wellness programs to community puppy yoga supporting local animal rescues, as well as full moon beach yoga and sound bath ceremonies. What ties them all together is her gift for creating spaces where people feel instantly welcome, deeply grounded, and free to be themselves.

Lindsey approaches yoga as both medicine and adventure. Her classes are not about perfection or performance—they’re about presence, laughter, nervous system reset, and leaving feeling more like you than when you arrived.

Having traveled to Italy regularly since 2013, Lindsey brings a personal love for Italian culture, food, and slow living into everything she creates. This Sicily retreat is the culmination of years of teaching, traveling, and intentionally gathering people together. Her vision is simple but powerful: to create an unforgettable experience where strangers become friends, days are filled with movement and exploration, and guests return home feeling expanded, nourished, and deeply alive.

This retreat is designed to be the adventure of a lifetime—and Lindsey will be there every step of the way to guide, support, and celebrate the journey with you.

About Nucidda, our retreat base:

Nucidda is not just a country house—it is a dream that took root and learned how to breathe.

Our sea view on the Aeolian Isles

Its name comes from a Sicilian word meaning “little hazelnut”, a tender nickname given to Patrizia by her father, inspired by her family name and her gentle, grounded nature. For Patrizia—owner, host, and soulful cook—Nucidda has always carried the warmth of love and belonging. Her greatest wish was to have a home in the countryside, and when she made that dream real, she chose to transform it into something more: a place devoted to beautiful emotions, mindful presence, and encounters of the soul and the heart.

Here, time softens. Nucidda was created for meditation, yoga, shared meals, deep conversations, silence, laughter, and all those moments that nourish from the inside out. It is a space that welcomes you as you are and gently invites you back to yourself.

The house is nestled in the enchanting village of Reitano, a quiet hilltop borgo perched at the edge of the Nebrodi Mountains. Reitano is a place of rare tranquility, where stone houses tell ancient stories and life still follows the rhythm of nature. From here, the sea is only ten minutes away, yet it feels worlds apart. The views are nothing short of breathtaking: rolling green hills falling into the deep blue of the Mediterranean, with the Aolian Islands floating on the horizon like a dream you can almost touch.

All around Nucidda, and scattered throughout the borgo just a ten-minute walk away, gravitate a small constellation of charming old houses. These are authentic Sicilian homes from another time—simple, welcoming, full of character. They offer guests a private and intimate refuge, a personal nest where they can rest, reflect, and integrate the experiences of the day after yoga sessions, nature walks, shared meals, and soulful practices.

Just a short distance away, guests can also explore historic places and small towns renowned for their art, culture, and centuries-old traditions. From ancient villages and archaeological sites to baroque towns, local museums, and cultural festivals, the surrounding area offers a rich and inspiring tapestry of Sicilian history—perfect for day trips that nourish curiosity as much as the spirit.

Our Nebrodi mountains and view on Reitano Village

Together, Nucidda and the village form an ideal setting for an authentic retreat—one rooted in care, presence, and genuine connection. It is not a polished, standardized escape, but a living, breathing experience of Sicily: warm, imperfect, deeply human. A place for those seeking something different—a vacation beyond the usual patterns, where well-being, beauty, and inner quiet come naturally, and where every stay be comes a meaningful journey.

About Chef Patrizia:

THE HEART OF NUCIDDA

At the heart of Nucidda lives Patrizia, a passionate cook whose relationship with food is deeply rooted in love, memory, and the rhythms of the Sicilian land. Cooking for her is not simply a craft—it is a form of care, a ritual, and a way of creating connection.

Her cuisine is inspired by the simplicity of traditional Sicilian cooking, where few ingredients are allowed to speak clearly and honestly. Patrizia works with seasonal, local, and km-0 ingredients, often sourced from nearby farmers, small producers, and the surrounding countryside. Every dish reflects respect for nature, balance, and nourishment—perfectly aligned with a wellness-oriented lifestyle.

Within Nucidda, Patrizia offers hands-on cooking classes, intimate food and wine tastings, and shared culinary experiences that invite guests to slow down and rediscover the pleasure of mindful eating. These moments are designed not only to teach recipes, but to awaken the senses and deepen awareness—turning meals into a form of meditation.

Together with her daughter Giuliana, Patrizia welcomes guests with warmth and authenticity. Mother and daughter cook for and with retreat participants, creating a family atmosphere where everyone feels included. Preparing food becomes a shared experience—filled with stories, laughter, and the quiet joy of being present.

At Nucidda, the kitchen is a sacred space. It is where nourishment meets intention, where flavors carry the wisdom of tradition, and where food becomes an extension of the retreat itself—supporting inner balance, vitality, and connection.

To sit at their table is to experience Sicily in its most genuine form: simple, generous, and profoundly human. Patrizia and her daughter Giuliana, a chef too, they work together and have wrote a Sicilian Cookbook with their close friend Tony Scala: ‘’Seriously Sicilian’’.
