It’s a typical hot and sunny day in Palermo and as | write this introduction to my very first
Cookbook, the sun beats in through the south window bathing my kitchen in a wonderful
Glow.
The warmth it brings quickly spreads to my heart and makes me think of my mother who
Was my biggest influence, fueling my passion for cooking.
She was born in Casteltermini (AG), a small town near Agrigento on the south coast of Sicily.
In 1960, she moved to Palermo and quickly started to incorporate the cuisine of her birthplace
With that of Palermo. She remains an excellent cook and her meals continue to be different
And delicious. | feel like cooking……..
Our mission is to somehow, through the pages of this book recreate the exotic fragrance of
The Sicilian landscape and the salty seas that surround our paradise. That’ s way I love cooking with my guests both in Palermo and in the countryhome “Nucidda”, while surrounded by hundreds of ancient olive trees and looking at the seaview!
